AN AMERICAN CAME april 10th




Bradford's lecture Note:7
intro
Before holiday  he came to a person of English origin to give us a lecture about his country and told us many things.
Bradford is from NYC and has been living 17 years in Spain.
Preparation
Our English teacher suggested to us before Bradford came that we would propose questions to ask him about his country and other interesting topics.
Activity
NYC is in the USA, NYC is the biggest city in the USA. NYC is quite for from Valencia (6-7 hours flying).
The NYC burghers are the Bronx which is the poorest neighborhood, Manhattan (22km long x 3km), Queens 8,15 million met pop (1213km2) and Staten Island 21 million met pop (30,670km2)
In NYC there are 3 international airports: JFK, La guardia, Nework. Nearly 3000 flights a day.
Many famous people live in NYC and several TV series and movies have been filmed. Some are Calvin Klein, singers like "The Ramones" or actresses like Lindsey Lohan.
NYC food is international like pizzas, sandwich, jewish food, chinese, etc ...
The sports they practice are American Football, Basketball, Soccer, Ice Hockey.
In NYC there are many building monuments such as Time square, United Nations, Brooklyn Bridge (Flatiron building).
Empire State Building has 103 floors.
After giving us the lectures about his country we had the opportunity to ask him questions. Some questions were the following.
"Is it good Politically correct to talk about the sexual or political condition?
He answered that as in all places, if people have an open mind they will have no problem answering.
I asked "Are you the stereotype we have of your country true?" He replied that probably yes.
Personal opinion
I liked the NYC conference because I learned things that I did not know, besides it did not become heavy or boring because it made it quite entertaining and entertaining.
